Only in God Prayer Blog - 4 Apr 2021 Easter Sunday : Our Journey Ends Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The times we are living through have been foretold both by Our Blessed Mother and in the Holy Word of God. For the second time this writer has decided to stop commenting on the issues of the day and concentrate on prayer. The situation has gone past anything I can do to change it and there is always the danger of scandal.

This column will concentrate on prayer including the Holy Rosary (see below) given the fact that we place our faith on God and His Son Jesus Christ and as He requested trust Him and hand our problems, our troubles, over to Him.

Join us in our journey.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray

O Jesus I Surrender myself to You, You take over. Amen

The Day we Have Waited For - Alleluia

On Good Friday we began the journey with Jesus through the final 3 Stations of the Cross.

Our journey of course has a triumphant ending when on Easter Sunday today we reflect on the lesser known Station - the Resurrection of Jesus

15 Jesus is raised from the Dead

Prayer

My Saviour thank you.

Thank You for so much endless love that helps me rise out of my own sinfulness.

I will try again to live a better life.

Help me always to remember that love You showed to me.

Mary Mother of our risen Lord

Teach me to be like you

and in my love for others, love Him in return.

Reflection of Mary

I could only be most grateful

for the sacrifice of my son for us.

Yet what emptiness I felt,

trying to live without him, Whom I loved.

But only two days later that emptiness

was filled beyond belief.

He had risen!

Our Saviour opened the doors to a new life.

That is the way it had to be.

because his underlying love for us

would not stop anything less.

I could rejoice forever,

but certainly ...... not in silence.

Prayer to Our Lady Of Sorrows

O most holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ: by the overwhelming grief you experienced when you witnessed the martyrdom, the crucifixion, and death of your divine Son, look upon me with eyes of compassion, and awaken in my heart a tender commiseration for those sufferings, as well as a sincere detestation of my sins, in order that being disengaged from all undue affection for the passing joys of this earth, I may sigh after the eternal Jerusalem, and that henceforward all my thoughts and all my actions may be directed towards this one most desirable object.

Honour, glory, and love to our Divine Lord Jesus, and to the holy and immaculate Mother of God.

Thank you for making this journey through lent on the sufferings and death of Our Lord to His eventual triumph and resurrection.

What a wonderful God we have!

May the blessing of this Easter Season come down on you and remain with you forever. Amen

MORNING PRAYER

Jesus Christ is risen today

Alleluia.

Today We Celebrate

Easter Sunday

Alleluia, alleluia!

Christ, our passover, has been sacrificed:

let us celebrate the feast then, in the Lord.

The Word of God

John 20:1-9 - He must rise from the dead

It was very early on the first day of the week and still dark, when Mary of Magdala came to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved. ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb’ she said ‘and we don’t know where they have put him.’

So Peter set out with the other disciple to go to the tomb. They ran together, but the other disciple, running faster than Peter, reached the tomb first; he bent down and saw the linen cloths lying on the ground, but did not go in. Simon Peter who was following now came up, went right into the tomb, saw the linen cloths on the ground, and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed. Till this moment they had failed to understand the teaching of scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

"We are strong, but with Your strength; we are holy, but with Your holiness. And of ourselves, what are we? - less than nothing…”

Divine Mercy in My Soul

The Word of The Lord - From the letters of Paul

Colossians 3:1-4 · Look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is

Since you have been brought back to true life with Christ, you must look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand. Let your thoughts be on heavenly things, not on the things that are on the earth, because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God. But when Christ is revealed – and he is your life – you too will be revealed in all your glory with him.

Each day I pray that the Lord

will bless you and keep you.

May He show His face to you

and have mercy.

May He turn His countenance to you

and give you peace.

The Lord bless you!

Amen.

Always remember - Jesus loves you.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in our hour of conflict. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

The Holy Rosary

Our Blessed Mother explained to us what would happen in the World and in the Church if people continued to turn from God. One of the things she asked us to do was to say the Rosary everyday. Please find a few minutes today to fulfil her request.

Today we pray

The Glorious Mysteries

Only in God is my soul at rest. In Him comes my salvation.

We finish as we begun

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
